Marian is comprised of mostly White individuals. There is some diversity, mostly within the football team and some sparse individuals littered throughout all of the academic paths. For the most part however, Marian's student body is 80% Caucasian.
Marian has been cracking down recently on underage drinking. Originally a dry campus, it is now alright for of age students to keep alcohol in their dorms as long as all members of the room/suite are 21+. This policy was put in place due to the traveling off campus students were doing to partake so they would not get a citation on campus. It caused some issues when those same students were returning to campus for the night. Now they take the standpoint of, "We abide by Federal and State laws when it comes to substances, but ... read more
All you have to do is ask. Marian's location makes a variety of dining options easy to grasp.
With the purpose of attending college being to further education and make many doors available later in life. i would have to say that Marian is an excellent place to attend. The academia is above par.
Marian just added a campus mainframe which helped a bit. but during crunch times of the semester it is not uncommon for campus provided internet access to be limited/slow or available at all. Three of the eight 'finals weeks' I have been apart of I was unable to access internet for at least 3 days.

Off campus housing is really area based. Marian is located in kind of a sketchy part of Indianapolis. It's not exactly dangerous, but it is difficult to find a house that there is extraordinary peace of mind. If you want a large peace of mind in your living location it is best to stay 10-15 minutes north of campus, near Butler University, Downtown, or Broad Ripple.
Campus is small enough that weather doesn't inhibit or slow down traveling across campus to the dorms, classes, or to your car. It is unpleasant just because its bad weather though. There was one winter with a really bad ice storm which we dubbed as "Ice-pocalypse." very few of the students were able to gain entrance to their cars due to 3 inches of ice encapsulating the vehicles. The University shut down for two days. It was fun however that all of the fields between buildings were covered in an almost perfectly smooth shee... read more
Aramark does not really do that well when it comes to campus dining. The food is usually pretty bland and has a very limited time frame which many of the students cannot make it to.
