Overall its been ok. The downside is life after 4pm is boring with nothing to do. The upside is small classes and people know who you are. Help is available if you ask and Professors/teachers are for the most part interested in you and what your going through at that space in time. The food is cooked to death. All vitamins depleated from once fresh vegetables. Carbs, carbs, carbs is what they serve - so if you're healthy bring your own hotplate, microwave and fridge - they are all allowed.
Marian is a small, private, catholic university. They put together a good package for me from various areas that really made it affordable. In high school I was an average student.
Take a Drive – In order to dine off campus you have to take a 10-15min drive. Going down W 38th Street or up Michigan is your best bet for running into a good place to eat. The campus is really set in a nice wooded area so it is worth having to take a drive to dine off campus. On campus dining is improving for sure, they are trying to provide more choices for students so those that live on campus don't feel the need to drive off campus often to have a nice meal.
Peace and Tranquility – The Marian University campus is a haven for students! The grounds are beautiful, the buildings well-kept and the grounds well guarded. In addition, their satellite facilities include a visible security presence and the total atmosphere is safe and inviting.
The Place to Be for Teachers and Nurses – Marian University enjoys an excellent reputation as a teacher's college and a nursing college. Its programs in both department's are quite comprehensive and therefore impressive to add to one's resume. However, Marian in no way limits opportunities for students of other disciplines. The school has something for everyone!
There's Always Something Going on – At Marian University, the campus activities are full and fabulous. The student life at Marian is endless with possibilities ranging from various socials, to an on-site civic community theater to many cultural and religious-based opportunities to explore. If anyone is bored with campus life, they must never come out of their room!
It Has Everything – Indianapolis is a great large town with a small town attitude. Great nightlife, cultural exhibits, sports, and recreational activites.
In Indianapolis there are a lot of different housing choices.
I have attended IU Bloomington, IUPUI and now Marian and the students all look the same at every school. I guess if I were to give a grade it should be based on consistancy??? A
