I do not feel as if a lot of students use drugs at my school. I do know of a few, but the vast majority of them do not. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a different story. Most students go to parties on the weekends and get drunk.

Next school year my school is going to allow students to have only so many free prints and after you use all of those you must pay for it. I, as long as everyone else, think this is not a good idea.

In education, both elementary and secondary, you have what is called Phase 1 and Phase 2. I haven't completed Phase 2, but Phase 1 involves creating a portfolio and and interview. It's typically recommended that you complete Phase 1 during your sophomore year although it is occasionally done as a junior. Completing the portfolio can take a lot of time because of the documents involved although it's not extremely difficult. You can also take a lab the semester before you apply where a professor will help you put together the ... read more

The school seems to always be building something new, and the new facilities are typically really nice. The campus also has a lot of older buildings as well that are nice but showing their age. The freshman dorms in particular are older as if Clare Hall. Even the older dorms, while not quite as nice as the newer ones, are in decent shape and aren't horrible to live in. Fisher Hall, the art and theater building, had a fire recently, so all classes in there were moved. They're working on fixing it, but I don't know what that w... read more

The education program is really good at getting education students into classrooms as much as possible. They really believe that it is important that students have classroom experience before they are actually teaching so that they know what they are doing and aren't overwhelmed later on. Aside from required classroom time, there are also a lot of extra classroom opportunities for education students who wish to take them. I feel as if this helps put Marian education students at an advantage. Secondary education students are ... read more

I really enjoy it here, and I enjoy the environment. I had wanted a larger school originally, but I have learned since being here that I really enjoy the small school environment. I'm still not sure I wouldn't choose a larger school if given the opportunity, but I'm certainly taking full advantage of the good points of going to a small school. It's definitely a great choice of school for that kind of experience if you want it.
